Our visit to Coventry saw us knocked out of the cup at the second round stage for the first time in four years.
With several players missing we didn’t help ourselves when, inside 20 seconds, we were one goal behind our poor defending giving Coventry the perfect start.
Nothing in the game and we equalised inside twenty minutes, Ryan Piggott slotting home from tight angle to make it 1-1.
For what has seemed an epidemic of late our failure to deal with corners and free kicks saw us go 3-1 down far to easy to score against so we came into the break 3-1 down
Second half the lads came out and showed real fight and determination and had the better of the half, with 15 minutes left Nathan Turner crossed for Ryan Piggott to score his second goal.
3-2 and pushing for an equaliser now but with 2 minutes left Jamie Holder received a straight red card for what seemed like a harsh decision and try as we did we couldn’t find another chance.
Full credit to a very young Tipton side today, our first half defensive display no doubt costing us the game.
So we have a take a second defeat in this competition in four years a remarkable run which has seen us play in two finals.
Back to league action next week with a home game against Dudley Sports FC .
Mom Harry Clifton and Ryan Piggott.
