Gornal will no doubt go on and win the league but this was Tipton’s night .
With 9 players unavailable 5 youth lads stepped up to the squad with Conner Appleyard making his debut and keeper Josh Bowker also making his debut.
Conner Garrett and Owen Elson also came into the team.
The warning signs were there early for Gornal when Ryan Piggott raced through but the keeper made a good save, Tipton’s midfield gave Gornal nothing and our two midfield players playing centre half Jamie Holder and Myles ‘Mylo’ Nettleford looking as though they had played there all there life Gornal only managed to muster a couple of half chances that Josh was more than up to the task of saving.
We went in front when Ryan Piggott went past the last defender who bought him down, Sam Armstrong missed the penalty but Jake Fairhurst was there to smash home the rebound.
Wasn’t long before we were 2, up Harry Clifton picked the ball up twenty yards out and fired home great goal.
So for the second time this season at Gornal we went in at half time 0-2 up.
Unlike our previous cup game Tipton saw out Gornals early pressure and again began to grow Gornal we’re getting increasingly frustrated and a late high tackle on Ryan Piggott could have resulted in a red card but only yellow was shown.
The game was over when once again Tipton won the ball in midfield and played Ryan Piggott through for a running race with there last defender no contest Ryan went on and put the ball beyond the keeper.
Two changes were made with Tom Cottam and Sean Rowley being introduced this bringing the age of the team down even further.
So a outstanding performance from a very young Tipton team who become the first team to beat Gornal in their own back yard .
