Tipton Town FC 3 Coventry Colliery FC 2
Not at the races first half we were quickly behind when Colliery scored after 5 mins.
Tipton had most of the ball but Colliery were a constant threat on the break , Myles ‘Mylo’ Nettleford found an equalizer for us volleying home a Adam Callinswood cross, that didn’t last long though as more poor defending saw Colliery go 2-1 up .
In truth we couldn’t get hold of the ball to many passes going a stray to build up any pressure so we went in half time 1-2 behind.
Second half different story we started to get the ball down and caused Colliery problems our equaliser came through neat build up play from Adam Callinswood and Ryan Piggott with the later being bought down for a clear penalty.
Sam Armstrong showed his cool to slot home after a lengthy stoppage. All us now and we quickly went in front when young Ramani Stephens slotted home his first goal for the club a great left foot shot that beat the keeper. We managed the game really well after this keeping the ball and frustrating Colliery at every opportunity. The final whistle came and it’s back to back Saturday Vase Finals for Tipton.
We will play Cadbury Athletic FC May 21st at Ray Hall Lane. Thank you to our Mascots and everyone who came to supply the lads it is very much appreciated.
