BCFA Saturday Vase
Tipton ravaged with illness had to dig deep into the squad today but the quality and spirit in the squad shone through .
Tipton we’re rocked back early when the ref gave a very harsh penalty against the home side which was dispatched well
Old Wulfs then quickly doubled there advantage on 35 mins making it 2-0 with a superb run and finish from there winger .
Wulfs we’re much better than there lowly league position would suggest they passed the ball around very well and defended everything in there box but Tipton were also playing well and controlling large parts of the game .
Tipton needed a hero and up came skipper Sam Hesson who with a few mins to half time skipped past his man to fire an unstoppable shot into the corner to give us a lifeline .
Second half Tipton came flying out the blocks and quickly equalised in the 50 th min when Nathan Turner drove in a cross that Myles ‘Mylo’ Nettleford smashed home .
Danny Bell then put us in front tapping home a Conner Scott shot he then increased the lead tapping home Olly Hartland cross .
Old Wulfs never stopped and were awarded a much clearer penalty when there striker was fetched down in the box , Ben Holden showed his ability at penalties getting down really well to save it .
Tipton looked to be in total control after the pen but Old Wulfs had other ideas and scored late on after a great run and cross down the left saw there striker tap home .
A couple of uncomfortable minutes followed but Tipton saw game through and into the quarter final .
